Summer is slowly drawing to a close, the first cooler mornings are creeping in, and we’re finding ourselves drawn back to our sewing machines. Maison Fauve’s Autumn/Winter 2026/27 collection tells a story that goes beyond words…

Les Mots Bleus is an intention. Its story unfolds through colour, print and atmosphere, somewhere between poetry and nostalgia. It is also about boldness and freedom - a silhouette that plays with nonchalance, gender and a mix of influences.

This season, blue takes centre stage. It comes alive in our new Belle Époque jacquard, with its Art Nouveau-inspired florals, runs through a palette of tonal plains, and brings a new dimension to Manifesto, our signature print.

Manifesto is exactly that: a manifesto for the Maison Fauve universe. The poetry of a secret garden, the intrigue of a cabinet of curiosities, a meeting of classicism and audacity - it tells our story beyond words.

For the fabrics, we’ve selected beautiful cotton corduroys, exceptional-quality wools and wonderfully soft viscose rib knits, while our cotton gabardine and viscose poplin are transformed by the Manifesto print.

What are the new patterns in the collection

The collection is designed as a complete wardrobe that feels both feminine and effortless to wear. A sweeping overcoat, a delicate blouse, a beautifully detailed dress, a deceptively demure top and playful Bermuda shorts - the Maison Fauve wardrobe is full of character and thoughtful details. Darts and pleats appear throughout, like a signature thread running from one collection to the next. The proportions are carefully considered, and every piece is designed to work beautifully with the others.

The ROMAN overcoat has a generous, enveloping silhouette. Sew it in a warm wool for a beautiful winter coat, or choose a lighter fabric to give it the feel of a barn jacket. As always, the pattern offers carefully considered details and plenty of options, with a structured cut and beautifully finished construction.

The PROSE dress is as comfortable as it is elegant, designed to take you from everyday wear to more dressed-up occasions. With several variations to explore, it’s a pattern you can return to season after season. Its considered construction will appeal to experienced sewists without relying on unnecessarily complicated techniques.

The romantic MISSIVE blouse is light and floaty, with a touch of vintage charm that feels completely at home in a contemporary wardrobe.

The FOLIO blouse is a quicker, more accessible sew, with just enough detail to give it real character. With several versions to choose from, it’s a versatile pattern suitable for different sewing levels.

And bringing a little freedom and nonchalance to the collection are the SYNOPSIS Bermuda shorts. The unexpected piece in the capsule, SYNOPSIS gives the wardrobe a relaxed, contemporary edge.

Together, the five patterns can be mixed and matched to create complete looks, playing with contrasts in proportion, texture and fabric.

What are the new fabrics in the collection?

While viscose poplin and cotton gabardine are already firm favourites in our Fabric Library, this season also introduces several new fabrics.

The new collection includes:

• Belle Époque jacquard - a beautiful fabric combining softness with enough structure to hold its shape. Its woven floral motif is inspired by Art Nouveau friezes, with a subtle satin finish and wonderful texture. This medium-weight jacquard is perfect for jackets and trousers, as well as structured tops and skirts.
• MANIFESTO viscose poplin - beautifully soft and fluid, perfect for dresses and blouses with a wonderfully poetic feel. It is opaque, so there’s no need to line it.
• MANIFESTO cotton gabardine - our much-loved twill gabardine reimagined in the season’s signature print. Imagine a jacket or pair of jeans in Manifesto!
• Tencel, linen and cotton dupion - our colour palette expands this season, while retaining everything we love about this fabric: its distinctive texture, beautiful handle and supple drape, making it suitable for a wide variety of sewing projects.
• Viscose rib knit – 95% viscose, 5% elastane - a major new addition to the Maison Fauve Fabric Library. Wonderfully soft, breathable and incredibly comfortable to wear, it comes in some of our signature shades: Cinnamon, Scarab Green, Ink Blue, Plum and timeless Black.
• Cotton corduroy - another Maison Fauve newcomer. Fine-wale corduroy instantly brings an autumnal feel to the collection. Its versatile colour palette works beautifully alongside our prints and plains, and we loved using it to contrast the details of the ROMAN overcoat. With the ideal weight and structure for jackets, trousers, shorts, overshirts and Bermuda shorts, there are endless possibilities. Please note: this fabric has been sourced as deadstock and cannot be restocked once sold out.

Are the fabrics only suitable for the new patterns?

Not at all!

As always at Maison Fauve, the fabrics in the capsule have been selected with plenty of other sewing projects in mind.

Manifesto gabardine is perfect for the Roman overcoat, but would also work beautifully for jeans such as Worn or Ronsard, or even a Misfit biker jacket. 

Our cotton corduroy only appears as a contrast on collars and pockets in the campaign imagery due to its limited availability, but it would be ideal for Ronsard or Worn trousers, a Pilar jacket or a Manhattan blazer.

The viscose rib knit is perfect for the Ludmilla dress and would also give the Pirate Breton top a completely different look. It has the ideal weight and opacity for all sorts of projects.

The knit has 100% stretch across the width and 60% stretch lengthways (along the grainline), making it a highly stretchy fabric in both directions.

Its 130cm width does not affect the fabric requirements given for the PIRATE and LUDMILLA patterns.
For patterns other than Maison Fauve designs, you’ll need to consider the placement of your pattern pieces when calculating how much fabric to order.

The Belle Époque jacquard is shown in the Prose skirt and sleeveless Folio top, as well as in a striking Calypso jacket and Recif trouser set - plenty of inspiration for creating your own combinations!

What fabrics should I choose for the ROMAN overcoat?

The Roman overcoat works best in fabrics with enough body to hold its shape and emphasise its structured silhouette.

Plain or MANIFESTO-print cotton gabardine, cotton corduroy and our range of coating wools are all excellent choices.

Combining your fabric choice with the different options included in the pattern can completely transform Roman - from classic and sophisticated to graphic, colourful or more casual.

What fabrics should I choose for the PROSE dress and FOLIO and MISSIVE blouses?

PROSE, FOLIO and MISSIVE give you plenty of opportunity to play with both Maison Fauve prints and plain fabrics.

MANIFESTO viscose poplin is an obvious choice, while our dupion can create either timeless or more sophisticated versions.

For the blouses, lighter fabrics work beautifully. The fluid drape of Tencel satin would make a stunning Missive blouse, as would Tencel, viscose twill or cotton voile. And don’t overlook Daphné lace - Missive’s beautiful finishing details make it a particularly inspired choice.

For the long-sleeved Folio, we used white cotton voile to create a contrasting cuff, but you can of course use the same fabric as the rest of your blouse.

As always, check the fabric recommendations provided with each individual pattern before making your final choice.

What colours make up the Autumn/Winter palette?

Although blue takes centre stage, the collection also embraces red-orange, brown, russet, green and plum - rich, warm shades that echo the autumn season.

• Blue lights up our new jacquard and feels like the natural choice for the Manifesto print. Our dupion also offers a beautiful tonal palette, with Storm Blue and Smoky Blue joining Navy Blue.

• Green appears in shades of Khaki, Scarab Green and Moss Green - use it as a subtle accent on a corduroy collar, or embrace it head-to-toe with a beautiful printed dress or soft rib knit top.
  

• Reds and oranges bring warmth and vibrancy to the palette, alongside softer, more nuanced shades: luminous Cinnamon rib knit, the Manifesto print in fiery red tones, and Camel and Beige corduroy, all pairing beautifully with our existing dupions in Frosted Brown and Fauve.
  

• Plum remains one of the season’s signature shades, returning this time in our wonderfully soft viscose rib knit.
• And to balance the collection’s bolder colours, Beige, Ecru, Black and Navy Blue provide the perfect neutrals - from plain cotton gabardine to our new MANIFESTO print, reimagined in subtle tones reminiscent of a vintage engraving

This colour palette has been designed to make mixing and matching effortless, helping you create a cohesive wardrobe of pieces that work beautifully together, season after season.

Are the buttons and haberdashery matched to the fabrics?

Yes. The haberdashery in the capsule has been carefully selected to complement the new fabrics and complete each look. Every fabric also has a coordinating sewing thread chosen to match.

Our 12mm and 15mm Matte Wink buttons in Storm Blue join the collection and coordinate perfectly with the new dupion. Of course, they can also be used for plenty of other sewing projects.

Are the patterns in the collection suitable for beginners?

The difficulty level varies from one pattern to another. The Folio blouse is a great project for developing your skills, while more structured designs such as the Roman overcoat and Synopsis Bermuda shorts require greater precision and sewing experience.

We recommend checking the difficulty level and fabric recommendations on each pattern page before getting started.

Every pattern is also accompanied by a step-by-step video tutorial, and for patterns with several options, we’ll demonstrate the most technical version in detail.

Can I easily adjust the patterns for my height?

Yes. All our patterns include lengthen/shorten lines to make adjusting the garment to your height easier.

Before cutting into your fabric, take time to compare your measurements with our size chart and check the finished garment measurements.

Can I shorten the Synopsis Bermuda shorts or lengthen them into trousers?

Synopsis has a very distinctive cut: the waist sits low, while still offering plenty of ease for comfort, and the legs are intentionally very wide. The result is a relaxed, almost menswear-inspired Bermuda silhouette - and that’s exactly what gives Synopsis its character.

You can, of course, experiment with the length. However, we haven’t tested shortening or lengthening the pattern to the point where it changes the overall proportions of the design. We therefore recommend making a toile first to check that you’re happy with the resulting silhouette.

The finished garment measurements will also help you visualise the proportions and compare them with garments you already own.

How do the new patterns fit?

All the garments shown are sewn in our models’ usual Maison Fauve sizes. Déborah wears a size FR 36. Vanina wears a size FR 50 for tops and the overcoat, and a FR 50–52 for the Bermuda shorts, Prose dress and skirt (size FR 50 at the bust and waist, grading to a FR 52 from the upper hip, as with her other Maison Fauve makes). Emilie wears a size FR 36 in the blouses and overcoat and a size FR 34 in the dress, skirt and Bermuda shorts.

• The Roman overcoat has enough ease to comfortably accommodate a chunky jumper, jacket or blouson underneath. The cut is generous without being oversized, so there’s no need to size up for the coat version. Equally, sizing down won’t give you the same silhouette as the one shown in our images.
• Both the Missive and Folio blouses fit true to size. Missive has an intentionally airy silhouette, with carefully positioned gathers creating volume without overwhelming the bust. Folio has a straight cut that gently flares into an A-line shape, with pleats adding ease at the hem. The sleeves are also comfortably proportioned.
• The Synopsis Bermuda shorts also fit true to size. We carried out numerous fittings to achieve just the right amount of volume across the full size range. Choose your usual Maison Fauve trouser size, as you would for Worn or Ronsard. The waist sits lower than Worn, but Synopsis has a more relaxed fit and remains comfortable and secure when worn.
• The Prose dress combines a blouse-style bodice with a skirt. The darts make it easy to adjust the bodice if needed, while the elasticated back waistband gives the skirt plenty of ease. You can also grade between sizes for the bodice and skirt if required. The bodice has the volume of a gently fitted blouse, while the combination of pleats and darts at the front of the skirt creates its beautiful drape and flattering silhouette.

What if I want even more possibilities from my patterns?

We think we’ve really spoilt you for choice this season!

• Roman comes in two lengths, with two collar options, two pocket styles and two cuff finishes. It can be sewn in anything from cotton gabardine to wool, and the lining is provided for both lengths. It’s difficult to make it much more versatile!
• Prose can be sewn with or without sleeves, making it a true year-round dress. The skirt comes in two lengths and, if you don’t want a contrasting lower panel, you can simply join the pattern pieces after removing the relevant seam allowances. You can also sew the PROSE skirt as a standalone garment. This is a fully developed and tested variation, with its own waistband pattern piece and detailed construction instructions in the booklet. We haven’t, however, designed the bodice to be sewn separately as a blouse.
• Missive has two sleeve lengths, allowing you to vary both the look and the level of sewing involved. We don’t think it would have quite the same charm sleeveless, but if you love its floaty silhouette, why not experiment with lengthening it into a dress?
• Folio offers even more possibilities: sleeveless for summer, short-sleeved if you prefer a little more coverage, or long-sleeved for winter with its beautiful cuff detail. Its A-line silhouette also makes it easy to imagine lengthened into a dress.
• For Synopsis, we wanted to preserve the strong identity of the design rather than add variations simply for the sake of it. Maison Fauve already has an extensive range of jeans and shorts, each with carefully considered proportions. But that’s one of the joys of sewing - you can always experiment and make a pattern your own!

Are products from the collection available in limited quantities?

Some fabrics, colours and references may only be available in limited quantities.

Our cotton corduroys and wools are sourced as deadstock, which means we won’t be able to restock them once they’re gone.

Other seasonal fabrics, including the rib knits, jacquards and prints, may not be restocked immediately if they sell out. We’ve planned stock levels to meet expected demand, but if you have your heart set on a particular fabric or project combination, we recommend ordering while it’s available.
