Paper patterns

What will I receive if I buy a paper pattern?

You will receive a real size pattern printed on solid paper (100g/m2), it is ready to use, seam allowances included, with all sizes in gradations. You will also have an illustrated assembly brochure. The pattern is packaged in a decorated cardboard envelope with a soft touch finish.

The pattern pieces do not overlap and most of our patterns are multi-optional.

Several of our patterns grade from Uk size 6 to 24 (French 34 to 52), or even from Size 6  to 28 Uk (French 34 to 56).

A pattern that grades from 6 to 28 (French size 34 to 56) and with several cutting options weighs up to 600g.

Your patterns are sent to you from France to your home by Fedex. The amount is 10 GPB.

What sewing levels are the patterns?

We have patterns suitable for all levels, from beginner to advanced. We try to integrate intermediate techniques even for beginner patterns, but always as options. Like this, you will always have the opportunity to improve and learn new things, little by little! Tutorials are also a great way to learn! You will find photo and video tutorials of the patterns on the blog. Beginners have no more excuses!

What is a PDF pattern?

It is a pattern in electronic format that you will need to download, print and then assemble.

What does the PDF file contain?

In the PDF file, you will receive the pattern sheet in A4 format (the sheets will be assembled according to the numbering), A0 (actual size format) and US Letter (the North American printing format). As well as the illustrated pattern assembly brochure.

Is a PDF exchangeable or refundable?

No. Given the digital nature of the product, a PDF is neither exchangeable nor refundable.

Gradations & Measurements

How do I take my measurements so that the model corresponds to my size?

For tops and dresses, the main measurement is the chest measurement, which is to be taken at the tip of the breasts, wearing your "usual" bra.

For skirts and pants, it is the waist circumference, which is taken at the narrowest point, and the hip circumference, which is taken at the widest point, which are the most important.

For fitted models, it is always better to make a toile (mock up) before the final version.

The stature used is 65” (165cm) for gradation UK size 8 (36).

Gift card

I received a gift card! How do I use it?

Gift cards are valid for one year and can be used on the entire eshop! When placing an order enter your gift card code to use the voucher.

You can also complete a purchase with an additional payment method, if your gift card does not cover the total amount of the order.

Similarly, if the amount of your order is less than that of the voucher, you can use the remaining credit on another order.

Are seam allowances included?

Sewing allowances ​​are included in the paper and PDF patterns, as well as the hem allowance. The seam allowances are 1 cm unless otherwise indicated on the pattern brochure.

I'm a beginner, which pattern would you recommend?

All beginner level models: Sirocco top, Granite sweatshirt, Violette blouse and Marrisa top.

What should I do before sewing the hems?

Before hemming, always try the garment on to make final length adjustments.

How soon will I be delivered?

Packages are shipped within a maximum of 2 days after receipt of payment (except orders placed on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays). They are sent via French Post Office and FedEx, and are therefore subject to their deadlines. We cannot guarantee delivery times due to delays with carriers once your order has been placed with the carrier; these are beyond our control.

Can I sell my creations?

No. Any resale of clothing from Maison Fauve patterns is illegal. The patterns are for strictly personal and private use. Any representation or reproduction in whole or in part, made without the consent of Maison Fauve, is illegal (law of March 11, 1957, paragraph 1 of article 40).

Can I publish photos of my creations on social networks/blog?

Yes of course ! Don't forget to tag us and add the hashtags #modelname (for example #dressniki) #maisonfauveuk so that we can see your beautiful creations. You can also find projects posted by other seamstresses on our Maison Fauve Pinterest account.
