Nomad: discover the collection and 5 look ideas

A detailed presentation and ideas of looks from the fashion show: discover the New Nomade Collection by Maison Fauve

I am delighted to present our new collection: Nomade . This collection is a side step in the world of seasonal collections, it returns to the basics, offering a wardrobe designed to combine comfort and style, with impeccable finishes and clean lines. This collection is designed to be adaptable to all situations, whether it is an outdoor walk or a day in the city!

A Perfect Balance Between Comfort and Elegance

The Nomade collection is an ode to functional simplicity. The clothes in this range are characterised by comfortable cuts and thoughtful designs, which highlight the silhouette without restricting it. Versatility is the key word: pieces that adapt to your style, your desires, while retaining the Femme Fauve identity ;)

Inspired by technical clothing, the Nomade collection combines these elements with an aesthetic and attention to detail specific to Maison Fauve. Each piece is carefully designed, highlighting precise cuts and attention to finishes that give the collection a unique and timeless touch, for items that you love for a long time.

The New Patterns: Rafale and Ressac

I created the first 2 sewing patterns of the Nomade collection around an "activewear" inspiration: a sweatshirt with a refined and unique cut, and a windbreaker that will make use of the seamstresses know-how.

  • Rafale , a modern and lightweight windbreaker, with very pretty details but above all ultra-worked finishes.

For outings under uncertain skies, you can sew the Rafale windbreaker pattern in water-repellent canvas, available in three elegant shades: Khaki, Duck and Violet (Kaki, Canard, and Violet).

For a casual and more urban look, Rafale is a new take on the classic denim jacket in Macadam our light denim fabric.

And because I like the clash of styles, I mixed the sportswear cut of the Rafale windbreaker with the sophistication of our Reflet satin, available in Parma Grey (Gris Parme), Cumin and Champagne. A more than seductive monochrome.

    • Ressac , a comfortable and stylish sweatshirt. The Ressac sweatshirt pattern is ideal for all seasons. Sewn in our French Terry sweatshirt fabric, with ribbed edges, you can make it in several colours – Ink, Ecru, Cumin, Green and Champagne (Encre, Ecru, Cumin, Vert Scarabee and Champagne) – it easily adapts to different styles and occasions.

To find out all about these 2 new patterns, don't forget to consult the Nomade FAQ which will give you information on the cuts, the choice of fabric, all the possibilities around these 2 pieces.

      Fabrics from the Nomade collection

Maison Fauve has chosen high quality fabrics for this collection, offering a perfect blend of comfort and performance:

      • Lightweight water-repellent canvas : perfect for the Rafale windbreaker, it offers protection against minor bad weather conditons without compromising lightness. The Maison Fauve water-repellent canvas is a very good quality fabric, which requires little sewing experience in order to sew it without difficulty.

        • French Terry : a soft and slightly stretchy material, perfect for Ressac sweatshirts. Our 100% cotton French Terry has a nice thickness, for sweatshirts with a nice drape and cosy feel.

          • Sergio midweight jeans : a beautiful 100% cotton denim fabric, ideal for sturdy and elegant pieces. Available in 3 shades of blue, Sergio jeans will also look great sewn in a jacket, skirt, jeans or even a jumpsuit.

Each fabric has been selected to offer a beautiful sewing experience and hand-sewn garments of impeccable quality. They pair wonderfully with our new patterns. The collection also offers matching ribbing and specialised haberdashery for neat finishes.

The 5 looks around the Nomade collection

I wanted to give you some ideas for looks with the clothes sewn to present the collection. And of course, I mix new items with pieces from previous collections. The beautiful Vipère jumpsuit from the Fauvae Botanica collection sewn in our new Sergio denim, the Rafale windbreaker in a trio of Reflet satins from the Sillage capsule, the little Grand Bain shorts from the La Piscine collection in water-repellent fabric... It is important to me that the Maison Fauve wardrobe expands without putting aside the other patterns/fabrics: each new item is part of a continuity, so you love sewing without getting bored of it.

Let's get started with our review of the looks, which you can also watch on video on our Instagram account

          Colour Block Look

A neo-vintage look in a total water-repellent look, a little sporty, a little retro. The windbreaker and shorts duo in strong colours is refreshing!

          Look Cool Satin

The softness of the colours and the sophistication of the Reflet satin give a completely different interpretation of the windbreaker. The very sporty cut of Rafale revels in elegance.

          Chic Nomade Look

Cargo pants are a timeless classic that seduces with their very comfortable cut and their timeless style. We presented the Tremplin sewing pattern in our cotton satins, very pleasant to sew and wear. The Nomade collection is the opportunity to sew this beautiful pattern again in our new Reflet satin fabric. Champagne-coloured, it softens the Tremplin cargo-Ressac sweatshirt combo. Because comfort does not prevent elegance…

          Look Cosy

The Songe shorts and Granite sweatshirt combo are a real cocoon of softness, whether in terms of colours or materials. Granite's beautiful balloon sleeves are perfectly rendered in the Grey Parma (Gris Parme) French Terry fabric, and its wide, cropped cut gives it a crazy charm. The Songe shorts are a pyjama short pattern designed to be sewn in warp and weft, but the result is adorable in sweatshirt fabric. For the waistband, I chose to use the ribbed edge as a casing into which I slipped the elastic.

          Total Denim Look

I love wearing denim as a total look. I play with the shades of blue in the fabrics, as well as the different materials: the Rafale windbreaker is sewn in the Macadam lightweight denim. It's a perfect choice for this pattern (which could not be sewn in heavier or thicker fabrics without having to modify the proposed finishes). The Vipère jumpsuit has a very different style from the previous versions in Sergio medium blue denim: the fabric has the right hold for this pattern. The denim jumpsuit flatters the silhouette and gives it a lot of character.
