Introducing the Sports Capsule sewing patterns
The Adele Hooded Sweatshirt
Adèle is the sweatshirt we all dream of slipping into. With its slightly loose fit, it’s effortlessly relaxed yet unmistakably chic, and the pattern is rich in signature details: elegant thumbhole cuffs to keep your hands warm, a generous hood for ultimate comfort, and a beautiful back detail out featuring the season’s iconic swallow motif.
Equally stylish worn on its own or layered over a shirt or polo, its open neckline and button placket add a graceful touch. With refined finishes and a soft, fluid drape, Adèle is a true essential for a sporty-chic wardrobe.
The Sasha Joggers
Sasha is the pair of joggers we’ve been waiting for: a straight, comfortable cut with a beautifully tailored fit that enhances the silhouette, thanks to its raised back. The elasticated waistband is seamlessly integrated into the design - no extra layers, no bulk, just clean lines.
Sasha can be finished with a ribbed cuff for a sporty touch or with a simple hem for a more refined look. Patch pockets with flaps add a nod to cargo styling, balancing practicality and elegance. It pairs effortlessly with the Adèle hooded sweatshirt or the Ressac sweatshirt, but also looks chic with a shirt, polo shirt, or light jacket for a city-ready outfit. Sporty, yes - but always sophisticated.

FAQ's – Nomad Capsule
Questions about the new patterns
Are the new patterns available in PDF?
All our new patterns are available in paper format only, with a detailed booklet and video tutorial included. PDF versions will be available online at a later date. Watch this video to see how we work with the PDF format.
Can I turn the ADELE sweatshirt into a jacket?
The Adèle hoodie pattern includes a button placket, which creates an overlap on the top front piece. You can use this piece as a reference to modify your pattern into a jacket. However, you’ll need to decide whether to add a full button placket or a centre-front zip, and be mindful of the multiple fabric layers created by the kangaroo pocket - unless you choose to adapt that piece as well.
Can I sew the ADÈLE sweatshirt without the kangaroo pocket?
The kangaroo pocket is optional - you can simply follow the assembly steps shown in the booklet or video tutorial and skip this part if you prefer a cleaner look.
Can I use snap fasteners instead of buttons on the ADÈLE sweatshirt?
Yes, that's no problem. Use the buttonhole/button placement instructions provided in the pattern to help you position the snaps.
Can the new patterns be sewn in woven fabrics?
The Adèle sweatshirt and Sasha joggers are designed specifically for knit fabrics. They don’t have the structure or ease needed for wovens and haven’t been tested with this type of material.
Can I sew the Adèle sweatshirt with a classic cuff instead of a thumbhole cutout?
Yes! You can simply skip the thumbhole construction steps and close the ribbed cuff by folding it edge to edge, as shown in the Ressac sweatshirt tutorial. This will give you a traditional cuff finish - just be sure to use ribbing for the best result.
Can I sew the SASHA joggers without the patch pockets?
Patch pockets are an optional element, you can sew the pattern according to the assembly range described in the brochure/video tutorial by skipping this step.
Is it necessary to use ribbing?
You can sew the Sasha joggers without ribbing at the hem if you prefer. However, for the Adèle sweatshirt, ribbing is essential for the waistband and cuffs. If you decide not to use it, you’ll need to adjust the dimensions of those pattern pieces to suit your chosen fabric.
Can the patterns be easily lengthened/shortened?
The patterns include shorten/lengthen guide lines to help you adjust the patterns to your height. If necessary, also consult our free guide to custom sewing, which will help you adjust the patterns.
Is it essential to have an overlocker to sew the new patterns?
We recommend using a 4-thread overlocker, as it allows for faster sewing, impeccable finishes, and a more durable garment that will withstand frequent washing. However, you can also assemble the patterns with a regular sewing machine, using a stretch or jersey stitch and an appropriate needle.
Some seams are designed to be sewn on a regular machine - all details are clearly indicated in the instruction booklet and the dedicated video tutorial.
Note: Seam allowances are included and measure 1 cm. Be sure to keep this in mind when assembling your garment with an overlocker.
Questions about the new fabrics
Can I sew the Adèle sweatshirt or Sasha joggers in fabrics other than Maison Fauve fabrics?
Of course! Just check the fabric recommendations on the product pages to ensure your choice has a similar weight and stretch. We’ve tested these patterns in both our heavier French Terry knits and our lighter heather grey sweatshirt jersey, giving you a wide range of suitable options to choose from.
Why is the Nomade capsule fabric launch split into two parts? When will the VARSITY stripes be available?
Due to unexpected production delays, we’ve had to split the launch into two stages. We couldn’t resist sharing these beautiful striped fabrics with you asap - they are an essential part of the athleisure-inspired spirit of the collection. The VARSITY stripes will be available online from 23rd October. At that time, we’ll also reveal new looks pairing these stripes with other Maison Fauve designs - the perfect blend of sporty and chic!
Don’t forget to sign up for the stock alert on the fabric’s product page to be notified as soon as it’s back in stock.
Are all the sweatshirt fabrics in the capsule the same?
No, we offer different knits, each with a specific weight and elasticity. This information is available on each product sheet. Fabrics that are identical, and therefore only vary in color, are grouped together on the same product sheet, so you can't go wrong. We've used each fabric to sew our new patterns without any problems.
Are all the sweatshirt fabrics in the capsule the same?
No - we offer several types of knit, each with its own weight and stretch. You’ll find all the details listed on the individual product pages. Fabrics with the same composition (differing only in colour) are grouped together on one page, so you can’t go wrong. We’ve tested each of these fabrics when sewing our new patterns, and they all work beautifully.
Do all the new sweatshirt fabrics have matching ribbing?
Almost all of them! The only exception is the light heather grey sweatshirt jersey, which doesn’t have a specifically matched ribbing. For the Adèle sweatshirt in this fabric, we used our Parma Grey ribbing - the shades aren’t identical, but the combination works beautifully.
Can the new fabrics be used for previous patterns, like the Ressac or Granite sweatshirts?
Absolutely! Our new fabrics are perfectly suited to many sewing patterns designed for this type of material - whether it’s medium-weight sweatshirt knits, French Terry, or jersey.
What patterns do you recommend for the VARSITY striped fabrics?
This fine, fluid viscose jacquard is soft, drapey, and comfortable to wear. It’s ideal for sewing blouses, shirts, tops, and dresses - just remember to add a slip for the latter. We’ve styled it with the Déferlante blouse, Malibu polo shirt, and Scala shirt patterns. It also works beautifully for a Soupir pyjama or Songe–Blush duo. However, it’s not suitable for structured trousers such as Brooklyn, Andrea, or Hussard, as the fabric lacks the necessary body.
Can I use the VARSITY viscose jacquards with the Nomade capsule patterns?
No - these are woven fabrics, not knits, so they aren’t suitable for sewing sweatshirts or joggers.
Are the VARSITY striped fabrics transparent?
The VARSITY viscose jacquards are opaque enough for tops, and we didn’t line any of the garments made with them. However, for dresses, we recommend wearing a slip - our Blush pattern is perfect for this.
