Pattern

JACKY is a pattern that, beneath its classic looks, is going to win you over completely. Formal and highly codified, the tie is a standardised fashion accessory that we love to shake up and make our own. This pattern lets you sew the model that matches your style aspirations (or those of a gentleman you'd like to spoil). You can choose to sew:

  • the wide version, a little gangster, utterly chic and retro, with a hint of Italian nonchalance

  • the slim version, more rock, more sexy, in the spirit of the sharp silhouette of the English Mods

Sewing level: Beginner. Technical points: cutting long pieces on the bias of the fabric, and sewing the points precisely.

SEAM ALLOWANCES INCLUDED (1 CM).

Supplies
  • a 70 cm of fabric

  • 70cm of lining

  • 70 cm of interfacing G785

  • Matching thread

  • Machine needle suited to light to medium-weight fabrics

Fabric

Light to medium-weight fabrics (80 to 200 g/m²) are recommended for a beautiful drape and good hold on the bias: viscose, Tencel, cotton, poplin, satin, crêpe, fine jacquard, twill or lightweight suiting wool.

As the tie is lined, you can also opt for lace or guipure, in that case without interfacing, to keep the softness.

The lining should be fluid to make the assembly steps easier.
