Maison Fauve denim fabric is a high-quality textile, 100% cotton, ideal for making the Silvana skirt, Récif trousers, Hussard trousers, Pilar jacket, Dandelion bomber jacket, Métropolis jacket, and Vipère jumpsuit. Available in four classic shades:washed blue, dark blue, mid blue, and light blue. This medium-weight denim is perfect for sturdy and elegant creations such as jeans, jackets, outerwear, or accessories.

Sold by the metre, it can be paired with dark blue, mid blue, and light blue fly zippers, 6.0/100 twin needles, jeans needles, Cumin sewing thread for perfect topstitching, and silver jeans buttons. If interfacing is required, we recommend Vlieseline G700. For cutting, we suggest using Maison Fauve dressmaker’s shears.

This 100% cotton denim is artisan-washed in Korea. Each roll is unique, and we cannot guarantee that the washed effect will be repeated on individual cuts. The washed effect and light blue colourways feature varying degrees of fading; these are not colour defects but the result of the fabric’s treatment process.

Washing

Denim must be pre-washed before use, then laid flat to dry naturally. Washing removes the fabric finish, allowing the material to soften. The shade of blue will evolve over time with repeated washes, which is inherent to 100% cotton denim.

Machine wash at 30°C. Do not tumble dry. Iron at a moderate temperature (150°C).

This fabric is indigo dyed, which may result in normal colour bleeding, particularly in the dark blue shade (the most raw). We recommend washing and storing the fabric with similar colours, and avoiding wearing your dark blue denim garment with light-coloured clothing or accessories (such as white T-shirts or shirts, light leather handbags, or light-coloured canvas, suede, or leather shoes), as colour transfer may occur. This effect will gradually diminish as the denim develops a patina. If you prefer to avoid these characteristics—intrinsic to raw denim—we recommend choosing the mid blue or light blue colourways instead.
