Colours are bathed in light and its reflections. Fabrics feel as soft as rose petals. You can sense the weave beneath your fingertips, while even the simplest solids take on a new depth.

Think almond green, chlorophyll, khaki, navy blue, moss green, powder yellow, rosewood, amber honey, tawny brown… Each shade is soft, nuanced, and organic in feel.

Tencel, linen and cotton dupion
Just in time for spring/summer, a brand-new fabric joins our Fabric Library : Dupion. Known for its slightly irregular, thicker weft threads, Dupion has a beautifully textured surface with subtle ridges and a natural, tactile charm that gives it real character. The hold is truly lovely - structured enough for jackets and soft trousers, yet light and fluid enough for dresses, blouses, or tops. Honestly, I’m completely smitten! Every garment we've sewn in this fabric looks incredible, and it’s wonderfully versatile: a breezy summer suit with Mimosa and Grand Bain , a clean-cut, elegant dress with Hespéride , a delicate top with Belle Épine or relaxed trousers with the Soupir pyjamas. So many beautiful sewing projects await with this fabric!
And the composition? Just as thoughtful: 64% Tencel, 23% linen, 13% cotton — breathable, more eco-conscious, and a dream to wear.
Available in: Fawn, Khaki, Moss green, Navy Blue
Tencel satin
After the success of our Reflet satin fabric this winter, we’re excited to introduce Tencel Satin as a brand-new addition to our fabric library just in time for the warmer months.
This version has been specially developed for spring and summer sewing: it’s lighter, less glossy, and has a beautifully subtle shimmer - think of the soft glow of pearls rather than high shine. The surface has a velvety finish, and the touch is incredibly silky, making it an absolute dream to wear.
Made from 100% Tencel, this fabric is not only breathable and ideal for the season, but it’s also a more sustainable choice.

Mini Chevron Camel Cotton Jacquard
I wanted to bring a touch of heritage countryside style elegance into our summer fabric collection - something with a nod to traditional herringbone wool, but reimagined for warmer days. The result? This beautiful Mini Chevron Camel Cotton Jacquard, developed in collaboration with our Lyon-based weaver.
Made from 100% cotton, it's soft, breathable, and wonderfully comfortable to wear - absolutely no itch, just effortless style. The subtle chevron weave gives it a refined, slight mélange effect, reminiscent of classic wool jackets, while the camel tone adds warmth and versatility perfect for summer.
This fabric lends itself beautifully to structured yet wearable pieces:
– a stunning blazer like Manhattan or Mimosa , tailored trousers or relaxed styles like the Soupir trousers , chic shorts, skirts, or even structured dresses...It’s a timeless addition to the Maison Fauve Fabric Library- and one I’m especially proud to share.

Daphne Floral Lace
My love for lace is no secret - and when I came across this exquisite floral design, I knew it was the perfect embodiment of the À L’Ombre des Roses collection. Daphné has all the qualities we look for in a lace : it’s easy to sew thanks to its stability (it doesn’t stretch or distort), and it’s wonderfully comfortable to wear, made primarily from soft cotton fibres that won’t itch. The floral motif features beautifully placed openwork - revealing just enough without overexposing - striking the perfect balance between delicacy and wearability. For tops, we left the fabric unlined to highlight its elegance. For dresses and skirts, we recommend adding a lining for coverage and structure. For the Malibu collar and placket, we paired it with the Lemonade Tencel Satin - a stunning match that also makes a lovely alternative to cotton voile when lining your garments.
Available in:
-
Lemonade the perfect choice for a Malibu polo shirt that gives a fresh twist to the sport-chic look
-
Green Moss , ideal for a sleeveless Tempete blouse , a summer essential with effortless style

FAQ – À Fleur de Peau Capsule
How can I tell if the new fabrics are right for my project?
In this article, we walk you through the unique qualities of each fabric, along with recommended Maison Fauve patterns to help guide your choices. You’ll also find the fabric weight listed on each product page - a helpful reference for checking compatibility with your sewing plans. To get a better sense of how a fabric moves, we’ve included short videos on the product pages and on our YouTube channel, so you can see the drape and texture in action.
Still unsure? You can always order fabric samples to experience the feel and hold of the material before committing to your project.
With so many plain fabrics in this capsule, how can you tell the right side from the wrong side?
Start by examining the selvedges (the finished edges of your fabric). These typically have small holes from the manufacturing process. Run your fingers over them - on the wrong side, the holes will feel smooth and slightly indented and on the right side, they’ll be more pronounced, with a raised, slightly rougher texture. This is especially useful for Dupion and Tencel Satin, where the difference is more visible. These fabrics tend to be more matte on the reverse and slightly shiny or lustrous on the right side. Personally, I prefer the shinier side as the outer face of the garment, but it’s really up to your taste!
For Daphné lace, the right side is the one where you’ll see the tiny embroidered threads outlining the floral motifs - they’re slightly raised and help define the design.
That said, with all of these fabrics, you can absolutely choose the side you prefer - it won’t affect your sewing. Go with the finish that feels right for your project
Do the new fabrics crease easily?
That depends on the fabric's composition and weight.
Tencel satin is lightweight and made from 100% Tencel, so it can wrinkle—especially if you tie a blouse or belt a dress. Dupion, which blends Tencel, linen, and cotton, has a heavier weight and is less prone to creasing, though it may still show some natural creases with wear. The Mini Chevron cotton jacquard has a soft weave and creases very little, making it an easy-care option.
Viscose poplin is lightweight and fluid, and like Tencel satin, it can wrinkle slightly. However, the printed surface helps to make any creasing less noticeable.
Generally speaking, the most common way to prevent wrinkling is by adding polyester. But for this collection, we’ve chosen to avoid synthetic fibres to prioritise comfort and breathability—perfect for warm-weather sewing.
I’m familiar with silk dupion, but it’s not always the most comfortable—it can feel quite stiff. How does Maison Fauve’s version compare?
Maison Fauve’s dupion is a completely different experience. Made from a blend of Tencel (over 60%), linen, and cotton, it’s soft, breathable, and a pleasure to sew. The fabric has a gentle, velvety feel against the skin and offers a lovely balance of structure and drape.
Its fluidity makes it perfect for garments that need a bit of shape without stiffness—think tailored blazers, chic shorts, elegant dresses, or relaxed trousers.
If I want to sew a jacket in dupion fabric, do I have to use interfacing on all my pieces?
This won’t be necessary, as the fabric has enough structure on its own. For example, the Mimosa blazer sewn in our Navy Blue dupion isn’t fully interfaced, allowing it to retain the natural flexibility suited to this type of fabric.
We recommend using iron-on interfacing only where indicated in the instruction booklet and on your pattern pieces.
I would love to sew a jacket in the new Mini Chevron jacquard. Does it need lining? What linings do you recommend?
This fabric is made from 100% cotton, with a soft feel against the skin. It’s comfortable enough to wear without a lining, so lining your jacket is completely optional.
If you do choose to line it, I recommend our 100% cupro linings—they’re more breathable and pleasant to wear than polyester alternatives.
As for the colour, it really comes down to personal preference. For a beautiful contrast with the camel shade of the fabric, I suggest soft tones like pastel green, cloud, or coral—these gentle hues create a subtle yet elegant effect.
- Olive green, toffee and mocha are closer to jacquard tones and will also be very elegant.
Above all, trust your instincts and follow your creative vision. As long as you choose lightweight, fluid fabrics, there’s no such thing as a “wrong” choice—sewing is all about freedom and expression.
Will I be able to find haberdashery and buttons to match these new fabrics with such unique colours?
Yes—you’re in good hands! Each fabric comes with a matching sewing thread, and we’ve added new zippers designed to coordinate as closely as possible with the fabric shades.
We’ve also expanded our button range. You'll find colours that pair beautifully with your favourite fabrics. Our buttons are made in France, and for every new colour added to the Maison Fauve catalogue, we share the exact Pantone reference with our manufacturer—so everything matches perfectly. No guesswork needed!
We hope you enjoy exploring our latest additions and creating a handmade wardrobe that feels as comforting as a hug—pieces you’ll wear effortlessly, and love for years to come.
