Each new Maison Fauve collection features a signature print, which embodies the universe and aesthetic that I wanted for the season.

The Abstract Rose print epitomizes the essence of the À L'Ombre Des Roses collection. The rose, a timeless motif, unfolds through multiple interpretations: love and passion, but also mystery and the fleeting nature of beauty. In fashion, floral patterns can shape a collection with retro or vintage influences, enhancing the romantic allure of a style and the British charm of a look. My vision for the Maison Fauve wardrobe: a balance of romantic allure and soft femininity, expressed through delicate lace and fluid silhouettes—like the ruffles of the Belle Épine dress or the airy cut of the Hespéride blouse—paired with bold, striking prints.

Here, the rose is treated like an abstract painting, more suggested than revealed. The inspiration came from acquiring a small painting by artist Clara Bryon, an oil piece from her series Le jardin de Colette. This artwork felt like a tiny window opening onto the garden of my childhood, with a blurred effect that invites the imagination to wander. I see hints of Monet, echoes of classical painting, and, above all, an abundance of poetry.

 

This concept guided me in shaping our motif. I wanted the rose to be the focal point, yet for the design to allow space for imagination. The pattern is dynamic and bold, while the season’s colour palette promises to bring you striking, vibrant outfits.

  • Cerise : A deep, luscious red to brighten up your sewing projects. Pair with black for a bold statement or with ecru or beige for a softer, everyday look. See the fabric

  • Bleu : A pattern full of nuances, from deep blue to bright blue, on a worked beige background, like precious porcelain. Very original, this colour goes nicely with all shades of blue, ecru, white, beige, but also with black. See the fabric

    • Suitable needles : Use Microtex needles and change needles between each new creation to avoid damaging the fibres and breaking or pulling the threads. Pack of 5 Schmetz Microtex needles

    • Delicate Hold : Use very fine pins or clips to avoid marking the fabric. Box of 500 Bohin extra fine pins

    • Lightweight fusible interfacing : To secure certain areas (collars, cuffs, button plackets), choose an iron-on suitable for lightweight fabrics such as G710 or G785 . Vlieseline G710 or G785
