A Summer of Creative Sewing

What better way to express your unique style than with a hand-sewn top?

Summer calls for light, breezy pieces — and our top patterns are the perfect canvas for creativity. Quick to make and fabric-friendly, they’re a fun and easy way to experiment with prints, textures, and finishes, all while refreshing your wardrobe with something truly personal.

Maison Fauve’s Inspiring Summer Tops Showcase

Here’s your Instagram fashion show featuring 13 summer tops, each chosen for its fresh, seasonal style and accessible sewing level — perfect for beginner and intermediate makers alike.

At Maison Fauve, we believe that handmade pieces are more than just a summer fling — they’re meant to be worn, loved, and reinvented over time. That’s why you’ll find not only new designs, but also some of our favourite tops from past seasons — timeless styles that still have plenty to say.

Why sew your summer tops?

Summer top patterns are often simple to sew and feature clean, elegant lines - making them the perfect project for all skill levels.

They’re quick to complete and offer the chance to try out new techniques: sewing a button placket, mastering French seams, or learning how to add a lining.

Without the pressure of a complex project, you can build your skills at your own pace - and enjoy the satisfaction of creating something stylish and handmade.

  • Endless Possibilities:
Sewing your own clothes opens the door to creativity — and when working with patterns that require less fabric, you can treat yourself to a high-quality material you truly love. Simple designs are the perfect match for a bold print or delicate lace, letting you add a unique, personal touch to your look without overdoing it.
  • The Pride of Making It Yourself:
Your summer top might be your very first handmade piece — and what better way to start?
With just a few pattern pieces and several beginner-friendly designs in our collection, this is the perfect summer project. Take a little time for yourself, dive into sewing, and discover how rewarding it can be. We promise — you won’t regret it!

All our patterns come with detailed, illustrated instructions, non-overlapping pattern pieces, and seam allowances included.
Plus, each design is supported by a free step-by-step sewing video — which you can even watch before purchasing to get a clear sense of the process.
