Pompon addict! 4 ways to style your waistcoat
It's been almost 15 days since we launched the big Pompon sewing challenge, and it's a pleasure to see your first creations of our beautiful free waistcoat pattern. Pompon has everything to become a must-have in your wardrobe, because the waistcoat is a versatile piece that will follow your style desires. Discover the 4 looks that I built around Pompon, with accessorising suggestions. and my fashion inspirations. These looks are also available on video in our new Instagram story!
Look cool in business
Here Pompon is considered at face value, working girl inspiration in heels. Sewn in a soft tailored wool, this set is elegant and comfortable. To break up the very formal silhouette, I slipped a white cotton tank top under my waistcoat, and accessorised with a silver necklace with large links. The outfit then becomes more interesting, less strict. I wear it with the Tigris coat in black wool, which has a tailored feel and totally in line with this look. I really like combining navy blue and black: in beautiful materials, this combination brings ease.

The Spring look
In ecru Lily viscose jacquard, with its satin floral patterns, Pompon is adorable. But we could easily fall into formal wear and that’s not the idea at all. So I chose to shake up my beautiful waistcoat with a more everyday and spring outfit: slightly large, high-waisted jeans, pretty bright red sandals and a Dandelion jacket perfect for mid-season. The fabrics remain in the same tone (ink blue, white, ecru, denim blue) and the shoes add a colorful and joyful touch.

Bohemian look
Change of atmosphere, I'm going to a festival ;) Here the outfit navigates between rock, bohemian and dandy, with an assumed muse: Kate Moss and her crafted coolness. For this outfit, I chose my Jazz jacquard Pompon, over the tied white Skyline shirt, with old denim shorts and suede ankle boots. At Maison Fauve we no longer have the cappuccino check fabric and the pretty white jacquard of the shirt, but our new tartan wool will be perfect for a Pompon in this slightly grunge spirit, and a Skyline in Lily jacquard would be absolutely beautiful.
As for accessories, I opted for a silk scarf with polka dots and fringes, which fits perfectly with the false nonchalance of the whole outfit. I finish my outfit with my Pam gabardine coat (because the weather is not always good at English rock festivals hehe).

An all black look for great evenings
For this last outfit I revisit the tuxedo, in all black for absolute elegance: Onyx black Pompon waistcoat with the Poppy buttons sewn on their reverse side, Metropolis jacket and jewelled buttons, soft Brooklyn trousers, the buttons bring rhythm to the silhouette. I opted for sparkling and colorful heeled sandals that reveal themselves when I walk, and for accessories I paid homage to Coco with a beautiful vintage Chanel two-tone pearl necklace and Camellia brooch also by Chanel. The Métropolis jacket with its absence of collar and its box shape plays the same couture role.

And to go further with the Pompon Pattern
I loved creating these different looks, drawing on my “little collection” of Pompon. But there are so many other lovely avenues to explore for a Pompon look that suits you: use colorful jacquards, embroidered fabrics, or even make embroidery and patch applications yourself. Another nice inspiration is the vibrant suit look: a color block outfit will look great, and you can then mix and match your pieces.
