Sewing pattern tutorial: How to sew the Récif Trousers?

With its cropped cut and wide leg featuring a generous cuff reminiscent of sailor trousers, the Récif sewing pattern is a real gem. Extremely comfortable to wear, it sits at mid-rise and fits well at the back thanks to its double darts. The back is adorned with large patch pockets, while the front boasts beautifully finished Italian pockets with a neat pocket opening. It closes with an invisible side zip. Récif is ideal for sewing in gabardine or cotton satin, but also works wonderfully with medium-weight denim or fine wool fabrics, like suiting wool.

The technical skills covered in our free step-by-step sewing video include:

  • Sewing Italian pockets with a neat pocket opening,
  • Sewing darts,
  • Creating rounded patch pockets,
  • Attaching a waistband with belt loops,
  • Installing an invisible side zip,

Happy sewing!
