Exclusive Contest with the New Free Pattern of the Pompon Waistcoat!

Sewing and a love of clothes are my driving forces for Maison Fauve. I love creating each collection, building my “ideal wardrobe”, and then seeing you make the patterns your own, to tell a story through your sewing.

For several years, we have been giving you a somewhat unusual meeting: a big sewing challenge around a pattern that we offer you, with our wonderful partners ready to spoil you, and which is the opportunity for a nice creative boost!

In 2024, I chose a pattern that will complement the Maison Fauve wardrobe in style: a masculine-inspired waistcoat, a little marvel that I named Pompon, in reference to the flower that men wear in their buttonhole.

Tell me more about Pompon

The beautiful POMPON waistcoat is a wardrobe essential, and it has been designed to be worn whatever your style and desires: the finishes are perfect thanks to a very neat fitted lining, its neckline and armholes allow it to be worn alone or over clothing.

Pompon has been thought out down to the smallest detail:

  • The welted pockets that embellish the front

  • The line is impeccable, the ideal length for comfortable wear

  • The silhouette is supported by darts and a tightening tab in the back without restricting the bust, which makes it as beautiful worn open as closed

We also sewed Pompon in our beautiful Jazz capuccino cotton jacquard, and in our heavy Onyx viscose twill, two fabrics currently available in our SALE section.

Sew the Pompon Waistcoat

The Pompon sewing pattern is available in PDF, in A3, A4, A0 and US letter format, and it has layers to print only your size. The files to download include 3 printing options, assembly plans by format, and a detailed assembly booklet illustrated with diagrams to help you sew Pompon. The pattern is classified as an intermediate sewing level, but don't panic: Pompon has a free video sewing tutorial to guide you step by step.

The big Maison Fauve sewing challenge

The idea is to have fun together, so I brought together a team of wonderful partners to spoil you during our big sewing competition.

Let me introduce them to you...

The RASCOL haberdashery is a key player in the world of sewing, and it is certainly a place of torture for all seamstresses. RASCOL trusted me and my brand from the earlier days, and it has been a true partner for Maison Fauve for many years. In addition, we are almost neighbors, the RASCOL premises being located in Vic la Gardiole ;)

During the competition, the brand is offering several prizes:

  • For the big winner: Necchi Creator C360 sewing machine and a Simplicity bias machine

  • 4 sets of haberdashery items (scissors, lamp, Japanese ruler, mini-steam iron kit, etc.) for 4 winners drawn at random

ODORE SCOLA  is a symbolic perfume house in our region. Attached to the history of the University of Pharmacy and the Montpellier plant garden, ODORE SCOLA combines ancestral recipes for perfumes and scents with the latest scientific progress. I am lucky to have been invited by this beautiful brand to create the first Maison Fauve x Odore Scola  signed perfume (I can't wait to talk to you again about this project which excites me terribly!). And we invite you to become creative too during our competition.

The ODORE SCOLA house is offering a superb prize: a perfume box kit which introduces you to the art of perfume and scent formulation, so that you can create step by step the interior home perfume that suits you.

CINQPOINTS creates activities, cultural games and creative souvenirs to collect. Committed since its creation to the spread of the culture of architecture and design through objects, it designs and makes objects that have meaning. I am lucky enough to be friends with Laurence, the founder and artistic director of CINQPOINTS, and I am delighted to introduce you to this beautiful brand and its products during our competition: you will have the opportunity to win a stationery set and signature accessories of the CINQPOINTS style.

Do we still need to introduce ILABELLA?!

Marguerite is a dear friend, and I have the wonderful opportunity to wear many jewellery pieces from his brand. She also gives us the pleasure of lending us jewellery during our shoots to add that extra sparkle to our styling. ILABELLA has an elegant, feminine universe, and offers very beautiful semi-precious jewellery. During the competition, the brand is offering a gift voucher of 150 euros, enough to give you a very pretty piece!

Pompon competition rules

The complete competition rules are provided to you in the Pompon PDF pattern files.

The competition will take place on Instagram from 15/01/2023 12 p.m. to 15/02/2024 11:59 p.m. The results will be announced  on 20/02/2023 at 5 p.m. It is open to the whole world, from 16 years old.

To have a valid participation in the competition , you must:

  • Have downloaded and sewn the free pattern for the POMPON waistcoat by Maison Fauve

  • Have posted your sewn garment to a public profile on Instagram using the #maisonfauve #maisonfauveuk #femmefauve #pomponcompetition #pomponwaistcoat

  • Mention Maison Fauve and its partners in your post: @maisonfauve @maisonfauveuk @cinpoints @mercerie_rascol @ilabellafrance @odorescola

It’s possible to participate several times, subject to presenting a different version of the Pompon waistcoat for each participation. You can transform or adapt the pattern to your wishes, this will not have an impact on your participation.

The grand winner will be chosen by Maison Fauve according to the following criteria:

  • Quality of the pattern's production

  • Aesthetics of the Instagram post photo

The big winner, the one who will dazzle us with his/her creation of the Pompon waistcoat, will win:

  • A Creator c360 sewing machine and a Simplicity bias machine by RASCOL
  • A perfume creation box kit and a support course by ODORE SCOLA
  • A voucher of 150 euros at ILABELLA
  • A set of stationery and accessories (weekly planner, tiny house pencil/card holder, pencil, Building notepad and Rosebud notepad) by CINQPOINTS
  • A voucher of 150 euros at MAISON FAUVE

4 winners will also win a paper pattern of your choice from Maison Fauve as well as a set of haberdashery accessories offered by RASCOL

  • 1st lot: mini iron + cover + iron rest worth 46.75 euros
  • 2nd lot: Black scissors + Japanese ruler worth 46.8 euros
  • 3rd lot: Buttonhole ruler + tailors clapper worth 44.8 euros
  • The 4th: LED lamp + French curve ruler worth 43.9 euros

(the allocation of prizes will be done randomly in the draw).

 

- 10 participants will be drawn at random and will receive a PDF pattern of their choice from Maison Fauve

The competition runs from January 15 to February 15, 2024, results published on February 20.

Your machine is plugged in, the bobbin is full, so it's up to you to play and show us your most beautiful creations with the Pompon pattern!
