Le Rivage: The Fashion Show!
Le Rivage Autumn-Winter 2024/2025: A Runway of Inspiration and Style
There’s nothing like seeing clothes in motion to truly appreciate them, so join me in our Instagram stories for a video runway show on the @maisonfauveuk account. This format allows me to present each new sewing pattern, describe its details, and highlight the possible variations. You’ll also get a closer look at the new fabrics: their drape, flow, and colours.
For this show, I’ve gone beyond a simple collection review. I’ve combined the new patterns with other Maison Fauve designs to create looks that blend the essence of Le Rivage into a wardrobe fit for both everyday wear and special occasions. By playing with fabric palettes, colour combinations, and accessories, I’m showcasing eight very Fauve-inspired looks for the new season at Le Rivage!
Key Looks from the Show
The runway features distinct looks, each telling its own story and embodying a unique aesthetic. Here are the standout outfits you’ll find in the show:
1. Versatile looks featuring the Déferlante blouse in white Lily viscose jacquard
- I pair my pleated white blouse with the Récif trousers in greige gabardine:
I imagine wearing my white blouse as a shirt, either tucked in or untucked, with the Récif trousers. A slim black belt adds an effortless, everyday elegance, accentuated by the choice of fabric for the blouse.
- A retro-chic look by combining a timeless white blouse with the Cosmopolitan playsuit in Fauve Party jacquard and my Cliff coat in grey wool:
This is a more playful outfit, paired with patent leather Mary Janes and the Cliff coat, which has a duffle coat style that gives the look an adorable preppy vibe.
2. The Péninsule Dress: One pattern, two vibrant versions
- A daily go-to look, the Péninsule dress in blue Panache print, belted and worn with the Pilar denim jacket and my Cliff coat:
A daytime look with a touch of rock, styled with chunky lace-up boots and my denim jacket. A wide belt with a jewelled buckle adds structure to the silhouette.
- A bold and glamorous look with the Péninsule dress featuring a pussy-bow collar in red Lily viscose jacquard, paired with the Métropolis jacket:
The look is more feminine and polished, and the pairing with my short Métropolis jacket adds sophistication. It’s the perfect outfit for special occasions. A heart-shaped brooch (by Christelle dit Christensen) will complete the look and echo the rich Lily fabric.
3. A draped collar blouse, from day to night
- The Tempête blouse with long sleeves in cumin Panache print:
The viscose poplin of the Panache fabric creates a beautiful drape at the collar, and the cumin tone matches perfectly with the gabardine Récif trousers. It’s the ideal outfit for feeling elegant yet comfortable in your everyday life.
- A handmade lace top in cumin tones, paired with Brooklyn palazzo trousers for an evening outfit with the Tigris trench:
The Botanica cumin lace brings a whole new dimension to the Tempête blouse pattern. I opted for the sleeveless version, creating a very refined top. I’m pairing it with my Brooklyn trousers in black tailored wool, adding chic details like a belt and high-heeled shoes. For the Tigris trench coat with this look, I’m torn between the navy-black checked version or the classic gabardine trench – I can’t decide!
In the navy and black checked wool, this look combines classic and bold elements. In the gabardine trench, it retains traditional trench coat codes, creating a very elegant ensemble. Plus, the khaki lining with hints of olive complements the cumin colour of the lace beautifully.
4. The Récif Sailor Trousers in Cumin: Perfect for any occasion
- Paired with the Déferlante blouse in red Coquillage lace:
The Déferlante blouse in vibrant red lace is a little gem. It can be worn during the day with the Récif trousers. I adore this lace and won’t hesitate to wear it both day and night. The sailor-style Récif trousers help tone down the baroque vibe of the blouse.
- Paired with the Atlas blouse in white Tencel and the Cliff coat:
I’ll wrap up this review of Le Rivage looks with an ideal autumn outfit: the breezy Atlas blouse in white Tencel, the Récif trousers, and the Cliff coat in anthracite grey wool. Paired with a stylish pair of leather loafers, the look appears classic yet far from formal: the shoes are two-toned, the trousers are in warm hues, the blouse features elegant pleats and can be worn buttoned or unbuttoned, and the Cliff coat adds a bold twist with its signature details and unique cut.
