Maison Fauve 10th Anniversary Special

10 years… There are milestones in life, and this one is particularly important to me.

Each passing year spent growing Maison Fauve fills me with pride as a designer. Reaching this anniversary is a moment of joy and reflection, looking back on the incredible journey that brought us here.

When I think about the past decade, it feels like time has flown by, yet so much has changed—both for Maison Fauve and for me personally.

This adventure began almost by chance. My career path was set (I was a dental surgeon), I had just welcomed my second child, and I was discovering the world of sewing. I started designing patterns for myself, driven by my passion for fashion and my creative vision.

The trigger and the first steps

It all started at a party when some friends, seeing how proud I was of my sewing, asked me why I didn’t consider selling my designs. These two friends happened to own a company that built websites and had just acquired a printing business—talk about a lucky coincidence!

Around the same time, Pretty Mercerie reached out to me, inviting me to be the face of their 2015 back-to-school collection. It was June, and suddenly, an incredible opportunity presented itself: launching a small collection of patterns. With my friends handling the logistics—setting up my website and printing the patterns—and the visibility that the Pretty Mercerie campaign would bring, everything seemed to align perfectly.

That summer, I poured myself into the project, working late nights, sacrificing vacations (to my husband's dismay), determined to bring it to life. And I did it!

A small spark was ignited that summer—one that has only grown brighter ever since.

The journey was full of steps—some exciting, others requiring sometimes difficult decisions. For five years, I continued working as a dentist while slowly growing my brand. Season after season, I created new patterns, each collection reflecting my vision of a handmade wardrobe.

Then, incredible opportunities started coming my way. I was invited to write a book, collaborated with magazines, and haberdasheries approached me to sell my patterns. The momentum became unstoppable. Balancing my job, my growing creative business, and family life with two young children was becoming unsustainable—I was on the verge of exhaustion.

I had to take a leap of faith. I made the bold decision to leave my first career behind and fully commit to Maison Fauve. I knew it was a risk, and I understood the sacrifices—not just for me, but for my family too. But I didn’t want to look back one day and regret not taking my chance.

If I was leaving behind a stable career that I had worked so hard for, it was to aim high. I had a lot of ambition. Maison Fauve was no longer just a passion project—it had to succeed. I didn't allow myself the option of failure. And I wasn’t going to take this next step alone.

From passion to full-time job

About two years earlier, I had reached out to BGE Lunel, an organization that supports entrepreneurs. Even before fully committing to this career, their guidance helped me structure my business and lay a solid foundation for the future.

It was after winning an entrepreneurial competition that I met Julie. She was looking for new professional challenges and suggested that we take this leap together. Our skills complemented each other perfectly, and once again, I seized the opportunity in front of me.

From there, everything took off. In just six months, we restructured the company, launched a YouTube channel to share video tutorials, and welcomed our first two employees. This momentum also allowed me to fulfill another dream: creating our very own fabric collections.

The rise of Maison Fauve

The team has expanded significantly, and with that, I discovered a whole new challenge—recruiting and managing a team. This step was crucial in allowing Maison Fauve to keep evolving: new premises, a larger team, and, of course, many new responsibilities.

Today, there are nine of us working at Maison Fauve, and one of my greatest achievements is knowing that we’ve built something strong—first on my own, then with Julie, and now as a team. A company that thrives, creates jobs, and has grown without ever relying on external funding.

What started as a wild idea has become the adventure of a lifetime.

Thank you for these 10 years!

And I want to thank you all, because it is your passion for sewing and your loyalty collection after collection that makes this beautiful adventure possible.
Here's to another ten more years of creating more joy through sewing!
